Just get over it.
That is sometimes the best advice when you get stuck in a rut and start feeling sorry for yourself. You need the strength and courage to pick yourself up and just move on. No amount of thinking, rationalizing, analyzing, blaming, whatever is going to work.
So just get over it.
That just the advise we all need if Malaysia is to move forward and progress. Let’s leave our prejudice, hang ups and baggage on race and religion behind and let’s just get over it.
If we want to deal with the real issues we face such as corruption, abuse of power, mismanagement, crime, etc. we need to first of all get over this first hurdle so that we see clearly and not let it cloud our judgement.
Being Malaysian, we are brought up to live with and accept racism and injustice on the pretext of keeping the peace or some greater good and so have learnt to live in a toxic dysfunctional environment and act like its all fine and not complain. Some would have you believe that this injustice is the creators will.
So sorry to rock the boat and risk being called a ____ whatever. But its time we confront the realities we face like adults and not sweep our fears and the past under the carpet and hope its will simply just go away.
Its time to wake up and deal with the elephant in the room. Let’s stop measuring and stereotyping people but accept them as equals by respecting our differences. Let us not use twisted logic backed up by foolish media propaganda to continue to perpetuate injustice that will reap its impact now and in our future generations.
Let’s together get over it and move on to dealing with real issues that will determine our future together. Let’s strike at the root causes and not merely be content to deal with the symptoms we read daily in the media.
“God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference”
–Reinhold Niebuhr
