Cycling Kuala Lumpur Part 3

The third and final place I cycled during the summer break was Lake Gardens, which is located in the heart of KL city near the Parliament House and National Monument.

Its a great park but seems like its surrounded and being choked on every side as the city grows rapidly. Its been here for as long as I can remember so it does brings back memories of picnics and trips to the museum.

This beautifully landscaped garden has a children’s playground and a nice walking/jogging track that runs around the man-made lake.

Unfortunately the park has no cycling lane so its best come here on a weekday when the park is near empty to enjoy a peaceful ride.

It’s a pity that walking/cycling paths in the city are non-existent. Walkways and cycle paths would offer city dwellers an alternative means of getting round the without having to rely on a bus, taxi or car.

On the bright side, I did run into a decent size monitor lizard at the entrance of the tunnel that leads to the Museum. So good to know some animals are alive and well in the heart of KL city.
