Learning to process your feelings and emotions is super important. This is especially critical when you are going through a rough patch.
Growing up, I came to the mistaken belief that showing my emotions was a sign of weakness. “Real men don’t cry.”
The two extremes we can take with our emotions are either to ignore them completely (bottle them up) or give them full expression (vent it with no holds barred). I don’t need to tell you that both extremes are dangerous.
We need to understand that feelings of sadness are a normal part of life and accept them for what they are. Feelings are like the weather and they change every day from moment to moment. So don’t get stuck on them.
We grow up by acknowledging them and learning to express them in a creative and healthy way.
Love this video and the stuff from The School of Life Australia insightful, well made and it challenges you to think.
