Cycling Cape Town

One of the best ways to explore a new place is on two wheels. As such my visit to Cape Town would not be complete without a cycle tour. So I got in touch with Bike and Saddle, a company that specialises in organising some very interesting cycling adventures in South Africa.

I booked the Half Day Cape Town Cycle Tour. My guide, Skeezo was fantastic and met me at my hotel near the V&A Waterfront with my rental bicycle.

We started off riding along Beach Road in the early morning enjoying the magnificent view of both the sea and the mountains. It was simply breathtaking!

We then circled back and went through Green Point Park into the city centre stopping at Green Market Square, the House of Parliament, the Slave Lodge and then along the Company’s Gardens into Bo Kaap.

The almost 30 km on-road ride had a combination of some nice climbs and sweet downhill, especially the one zipping down Kloof Road as well as heading into the city streets with stops in between to take in the sights as well as photographs.

All in all a great time exploring this colourful and beautiful place. I cannot wait to go back for more.
