Finding that still space in the eye of the storm

Meditation can create a still space in the midst of chaos for you to breathe, think and act.

Between stimulus and response there is a space.

In that space is our power to choose our response.

In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

Viktor E. Frankl

Create space within each day to simply be present.

This space between stimulus and response (the eye of the hurricane) can help us choose how we respond to unexpected circumstances that come our way rather than automatically react.

There are disciplines and practices available from different traditions that could help.

It’s not complicated but can seem hard at first.

Meditation

Just take a few minutes, start small, simply be silent and listen to what’s going on inside yourself.
