How do you deal with your overwhelming emotions of pain, anger, and disappointment so that it does not destroy you or the ones you love the most?
I have discovered over the last 40 years that it’s easier for me to bury my emotions than to deal honestly with them. In fact, I have done it for so long that it has become second nature to me.
The pain can be caused by many factors. The how sometimes does not matter as much as what you are going to do now to stop the intense hurt it is causing inside of you.
All you can think of is to find immediate relief so you resort to quick-fix answers to suppress pain. These habits start small, intended as a harmless distraction from our pain but end up growing into full-fledged monsters (addictions) that take control of our mind, body, and soul.
Unfortunately, these addictions do not deal with the painful emotions but bury it deep in our bodies. There is a price to pay when we do not deal with our painful emotions.
We do not bury our emotions dead, they remain alive in our subconscious minds and intestines, to hurt and trouble us – John Powell
We must learn to transform our raw painful emotions or else it can turn toxic and destroy us from the inside out.
Fear, hate, anger, disappointment, etc.
Denial
Repression
Aggression or Transformation?
Learn to deal with it in a healthy way or be doomed to pass it on
