Do or do not, there is no try.
Master Yoda
Our mindset determines how we approach the task at hand and deal with the obstacles and challenges we face.
A growth mindset doesn’t see FAILURE as final but as a natural part of the learning process.
This was written in 2017, reflecting when I first moved to Australia three years earlier and faced a very challenging first year looking for a job.
Change is hard
Moving countries takes courage and may sometimes result in you falling flat on your face.
Don’t be afraid of failure. It’s not FINAL but a natural part of the learning process in your new home.
“Give it a go!” and leave the old habits and mindset behind.
Shame, guilt, and fear can combine into a toxic concoction and hold you a prisoner in your mind.
The geographical distance you have to travel to get to your new home is only a fraction of the real migration journey, the rest takes place daily as you change and adapt to a whole new way of [seeing, thinking and doing] in a new land.
Whatever happens, take one day at a time and keep moving forward.
