Living beyond virtual reality

In a world filled with distractions designed to keep us “happy” in virtual reality, we need a “red pill” that will allow us to step out of autopilot and into “Actual Reality 360” (or real life).

Is there an alternative to living in the Matrix?

Yes, there is.

You can CHOOSE to wake up from wonderland.

The blue pill or the red pill?

“Remember, all I am offering is the truth, nothing more.” – Morpheus to Neo in The Matrix

In a world filled with distractions designed to keep us “happy” in virtual reality, we need a “red pill” that will allow us to step out of autopilot and into “Actual Reality 360” (or real life).

Here is an ancient spiritual practice, forgotten in our consumer-orientated religious culture that is fed by a steady stream of superstar televangelist and gurus selling quick fix pseudo-religious ideas. All designed to take care of number one.

The Red Pill of Reflection

Step back and reflect on your actions. Strip back the layers and delve deeper into the root cause to examine the thoughts and motives behind your actions.

This painful and uncomfortable process is a critical step if you wish to grow up.

The practice

The simple and disciplined act of taking time each day for quiet reflection and self-examination offers us a different alternative than merely existing in wonderland and running with the rats in a race that no one can or will win.

Pause at regular intervals

  • Stop, be still and breathe deeply
  • Reflect and examine your thoughts and actions
  • Admit your mistakes, make changes where possible and let go of the rest
  • Breathe and move forward
  • Repeat regularly at the start and end of each day
  • Freely use as and when required

This practice done regularly will awaken us from Slumberland and allow us to SEE again.

“Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.” James‬ ‭1:23–24‬ ‭NIV‬‬
